Infrastructure

To shore up various kinds of economic activity, ease transport cost and attract more investors, the Municipality of Binalonan has made well-placed investments in infrastructure, including the expansion of highways, the crossing (in coordination w/ DPWH), main streets, sidewalks, streetlights, and parking areas as well as improvements on drainage systems and establishment of internet/wifi structures.

Wider roads with sidewalks, drainage, and streetlights along the central trading area in the Poblacion have been constructed, while construction remains in full swing to widen more streets, sidewalks, and even barangay roads.

Ten Million Pesos worth of farm-to-market roads have been constructed and even more shall b implemented in the future.

Proper zoning and strict adherence to building codes are likewise given priority by the administration to maximize proper utilization of lands. Careful study and consideration is being taken up by local officials towards this goal, including identifying the topographic features of the town, the potential areas of development and their proximities to identified places, and implementation of proper planning in building establishments. Because of this, Binalonan was awarded as National Champion in the 2013 CLUP, an award given by the HLURB.

Simultaneous to these efforts are plans to strengthen Internet access in Binalonan and eventually turn the entire municipality complex into a wifi hotspot with the forthcoming inception of technical structures and additional internetsites within the town. This will pave the way for BPO’s to invest in the town – a significant area of concentration in the TECHNO HUB project initiated by Mayor Ramon “Mon-Mon” V. Guico III.
