During the time of Mayor Ramon Guico Sr., the town of Binalonan was hailed as one of Pangasinan’s peaceful communities, thanks to his firm and rigorous stance on maintaining public order. Today, Binalonan remains to be a safe and conducive place to live and do business. In fact it has one of the lowest crime rates in the entire province of Pangasinan.
The town’s bid to maintain an atmosphere of peace and order has given rise to an intensified police patrol system and fielding of more foot patrols especially at night to safeguard its residents against crime. One may take a leisure walk at night at the poblacion without worrying about one’s safety. The installation of streetlights in Binalonan provide locals added security while keeping crimes at bay. Streetlights are also evident in many Barangays like Sto. Nino, Sta. Maria, Cili, Bugayong, Camangaan, Sta. Catalina, Moreno, Linmansangan, Santiago, San Felipe Sur, Capas, Pasileng Norte, Pasileng Sur, and Balangobong. This was the mandate and program of Mayor Mon-Mon Guico emphasized in his 2011 Municipal Development Council (MDC) meeting composed of the 24 barangay captains and the Mayor as Chairman.
CCTV cameras will also be installed in key areas of the town and are budgeted already for 2013.
Outreach programs like Brgy. Ugnayan and Pulong-pulong ensure that community members are regularly informed on the state of affairs in Binalonan.
